  We’ve had a spooky week at Malpas Court! We have made vegetable soup, created fizzing potions, celebrated Diwali, made silly sentences with Shape Colour Coding, made Halloween treats, partitioned numbers, visited St David’s Hospice, played team games with Newport County, battled our Sphero robots, reviewed the 4 core purposes, learned a Spanish dance, debated drugs with PC Lisa, brushed up our Adobe Creative skills, danced our socks off and finished our Celtic shields!

   

  We hope you all enjoy the half term break, see you in a week!

  We have have an amazing week this week! We met Seren a Sbarc, played time games, did rugby with the Dragons, made biscuits, had fun with pumpkins, made pizza, painted bird feeders, read the ugly duckling, worked as a team, collected data to make pictograms, brushed our teeth, worked like Captain Capable, had golden time, played sports with Newport County, coded spooky games in Scratch, went to Spain for the week and celebrated our harvest festival! One more week to go until half term…

  Autumn is creeping in but that doesn’t stop us from having fun and learning!

  We used cornflakes for construction play, read with our buddies, shared our likes and dislikes, read the Three Little Pigs, practiced our cutting, had a dough disco, played Welsh Imposter, practiced our ball skills with Newport County, learned about the Romans in Caerleon, designed magical lands, played maths games, learned about communication and DLD Awareness, learned about the history of policing with Gwent Police and looked at life saving skills with Shocktober and the Welsh Ambulance service.

  So much amazing work happening around the school this week! We’ve made hedgehogs, eaten chip butties, had our adults in to stay and play, met our reading buddies, learned about money, mixed coloured paint, learned about Captain Ethical, met some rabbity visitors, played sports with Newport County, made Roman mosaics with our grown ups, visited St Mary’s Church, saved the ocean with Minecraft, cracked codes with Technocamps, investigated propellers, practiced our counting and had a go at making embossed Celtic shields!

   

  I can’t wait to see what next week brings! Thank you to all the grown ups who were able to come in and take part in a variety of activities that happened this week, the children absolutely LOVE it when you come into school!
